CLIP has embraced all national and state efforts to raise the Minimum Wage as an important step toward raising people out of poverty.
From our Partners at the Keystone Research Center, PA Budget and Policy Center and We The People:
"We are working hard with our allies across the state to push legislators to raise the minimum wage. All surrounding states have recently raised the minimum wage; Pennsylvania currently sits at the federal minimum of $7.25/hour.
A gradual increase in the minimum wage to $15 by 2025 would raise wages by just over $6 billion for 2 million Pennsylvania workers.
We are calling on all state representatives and senators to co-sponsor legislation introduced by Representatives Patty Kim and Chris Rabb and Senator Christine Tartaglione (SB12). These House and Senate bills embody the proposals put forward by Governor Wolf and meet the five principles endorsed by We The People and The Raise the Wage PA Coalition."
