We shared a statement last week about new data on U.S. median household income for 2017 that, on closer inspection, is not as clear as it might have been. Here’s another take, from the Economic Policy Institute (https://www.epi.org/blog/household-income-growth-slowed-markedly-in-2017-and-was-stronger-for-those-at-the-top-while-earnings-declined-slightly/), which is clear that the new data, for 2017, is underwhelming. U.S. median household income increased only 1.8% last year, less than the 2.2% inflation rate.”
The Keystone Research Center is working on its own analysis of these numbers. We will be sharing that information as soon as we get it.
